We just added Casey Family Programs' brief, "How do economic supports benefit families and communities?" to our 'Resources'! You can view the new resource here

The brief looks at the importance of helping families access basic necessities, such as housing, food, clothing, medical and behavioral health care services, and others. The brief discusses how providing these resources to families not only stregthens the family, but the community by helping to avoid and de-esclate crises, reducing parental stress, ensuring children have the material items they need to thrive and more! Helping families obtain and use the economic support they need can help prevent families from becoming involved with child protection agencies, which means unnecessary removals are avoided and families are kept together.

When communities work together to support families, they can prevent unnecessary family seperation and removals.
