The Resource:
To celebrate the five year anniversary of the Family First Act being signed into law, FosterClub released two blogs. The first blog, which you can find here, shares how lived experience leaders helped to pass the Family First Act. The second blog, which you can find here, highlights the voices of lived experience leaders who shared why the Family First Act is important to youth in the child welfare system and youth at risk of entering the child welfare system.
Why the Resource Matters:
When enacting any legislation, policy, or practice improvements, it is imperative that the vocies of those with lived experience in the child welfare system are listened to and utilized to implement best practices. These blogs highlight the power and importance of using lived experience voices to pass legislation. Additionally, these blogs showcase the impact of the Family First Act on those at risk of entering or who have entered the child welfare system.
