The purpose of the Colorado Family First Prevention Services Act Advisory Committee (CO FFPSA or "advisory committee") is to create a roadmap for Colorado’s state and county collaborative effort that represents understanding, planning and implementation of the Federal Family First Prevention Act, (Public Law 115-123, Title VII) as part of Division E in the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 (H.R. 1892). This landmark bipartisan federal legislation was passed into law on February 9, 2018 and this collaborative effort began in March 2018 and will continue over the next year to develop and implement Colorado's plan.

The structure for this work includes an advisory committee of key stakeholders from multiple organizations and agencies representing county commissioners and program staff, Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) including staff from the CDHS Division of Child Welfare and CDHS Office of Behavioral Health, Colorado Department of Healthcare, Policy and Financing (HCPF), Judicial Branch and other stakeholders as identified. The advisory committee provides oversight and direction to three subcommittees that will focus on over-arching areas of impact: fiscal, policy and services/programs. The roadmap will identify recommendations and rationale to inform leadership decisions.
